Terraco Styroskim Putty

Styroskim Putty is a ready-to-use flexible filler for finishing and levelling surfaces based on Terraco EIFS-ITE (Styrobond DP applied surface) and other masonry substrates. It gives a high quality uniform surface for painting. Styroskim Putty is specially designed for Terraco EIFS/ITE system and cladding panel joint systems. Due to its excellent adhesion, flexibility and impact resistance, it is used for cladding panel jointing and finishing of interior and exterior walls and ceilings.

Method of application

Styroskim plaster is used for jointing and leveling of cladding panel systems, such as cement fiber boards, calcium silicate boards, gypsum boards (interior-exterior use) and magnesium oxide boards.

It is also used for leveling and finishing various surfaces, including masonry substrates and siding panels.

For Terraco EIFS system. It is used to increase thickness (up to 1-1.5mm) when the final finish used is a low profile smooth coating.

For applying cladding board joints: ensure boards are rigidly fixed 2-3mm apart. Coat board joints with Terrabond-A (diluted 1:5 with water). Apply Terraco Styroskim to joints and allow to dry for 48-72 hours. Apply an additional coat of Styroskim to compensate for any shrinkage and allow to dry thoroughly. Apply 1mm thick 10-12cm wide Styroskim (5-6cm extended on both sides of the joint) and incorporate a joint filler with 5cm overlap on each side of the board joints. For external application, 20cm wide fibreglass mesh to be used with 10cm overlap on each side of the board joint. The joint filler should be embedded simultaneously on horizontal and vertical joints. Allow to dry completely before proceeding to the next step. Apply a further 0.5-1.0mm coat of Terraco Styroskim to the mesh and skim by extending both sides of the mesh to a smooth level finish using a 60cm scraper.

For top coat application: Apply in a thin, even coat <1mm thick. Apply two or more coats if necessary (maximum thickness 2mm in multiple coats). Allow to dry between coats. If necessary, lightly sand the final surface before painting, preferably within 24 hours of application.

Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
