Schneider Electric LRD08 TeSys LRD Thermal Overload Relays is a protective device used in electrical systems to prevent motors or other electrical equipment from overheating and potentially causing damage or starting a fire. It works by monitoring the current passing through a motor and tripping if it exceeds a certain threshold for a specified period of time.

The relay is designed to handle motors with a current draw between 2.5 to 4 amperes. This means it can protect a motor that operates within this range. Class 10A is a classification used to specify the tripping time characteristics of the thermal overload relay.

Class 10A indicates that the relay will trip in 10 seconds when subjected to 6 times the full load current. This means that if the motor draws 6 times its rated current for more than 10 seconds, the relay will trip and protect the motor from damage.
